The Beach

Cottage country in the city! The Boardwalk and sandy beaches. Beautiful parks and gardens. Lake Ontario at our doorstep. From its earliest days, people flocked to the Beach (or The Beaches as some people call us), making it one of Toronto’s favourite destinations. People still come for our parks and lakeside attractions, but they’re also drawn by our unique and eclectic stores and boutiques.

We have over 350 stores, shops and services along Queen Street running from Lockwood (three blocks west of Woodbine) all the way over to Toronto’s Art Deco gem, the R.C. Harris Waterworks. It’s no wonder that Queen Street in the Beach was selected as Ontario’s best small-town Main Street. The Beach offers all this and a year-long array of parades, concerts and events for young and old. One of Toronto’s favourite events, the Beaches International Jazz Festival held each July, showcases top calibre talent in a small-town friendly atmosphere.
